What is Health Connect?
Health Connect is your digital health assistant for Android:
- Central hub for your health data
- Connects tracker and fitness apps
- Secure data exchange between apps
Important: Health Connect does not track activities itself. It’s your data conductor!

Where can you find Health Connect?
1. In the Google Play Store (free)
2. Preinstalled on some Pixel smartphones

Goodbye Google Fit, hello Health Connect
Google Fit is being phased out. Health Connect is your new health data manager!

Set up Health Connect correctly: here’s how
Step 1: check installation

- Search for "Health Connect" on your smartphone
- Or: Settings → Security & Privacy → More privacy settings → Health Connect
- Not found? Install here

Step 2: find a compatible tracking app
- Google Fit is a popular choice
- Check the list of compatible apps
- Tip: non-compatible trackers can often be connected via Google Fit!

Step 3: connect apps with Health Connect
- Open the Health Connect app
- Tap "App permissions"
- Select tracking apps
- Define data sharing
- Confirm with "Allow"

Step 4: check tracking app settings
- Open your tracking app
- Look for "Health Connect" or "Data sharing" in settings
- Enable the connection

Troubleshooting checklist: if something goes wrong
1. Check permissions
- Health Connect → "App permissions"
- Are all required permissions enabled?

2. Check app support
- Not every app supports every data type
- Check app info for supported data types

3. Restart synchronisation
- Disable Health Connect in the tracking app
